Avec Odyssée, Frédéric Ledroit a souhaité ouvrir un livre pour orgue dans la même ligne que Cosmos (opus 58). Une nouvelle œuvre qui se présente telle  « Une sorte de voyage contemplatif de ce qui nous dépasse sur un grand thème général : la création ».
