À l'occasion de sa tournée en France, ce chœur d'élèves venu du Berkshire (Royaume-Uni) donnera un concert gratuit à l'église de la Madeleine le 28 juin 2026 à 16h, dans un cadre d'exception.
Fondé en 1853, le Wellington College est un établissement mixte accueillant 1 100 élèves de 13 à 18 ans. La musique y tient une place centrale : plus de 700 cours hebdomadaires, 60 professeur·es invité·es, et des chœurs qui se sont produits à l'abbaye de Westminster, à la chapelle Saint-Georges de Windsor et au St John's College de Cambridge. Le Chapel Choir est dirigé par Jack Thompson et accompagné à l'orgue par Sean Farrell, directeur adjoint de la musique du collège.
Au programme : le Requiem de Maurice Duruflé, ainsi que des œuvres de Bach, Ireland et Howells.
